New Book

by Ronnie Robinson

April 2006 sees the launch of a new book by Ronnie Robinson. Although aimed at the general market the book, published by Duncan Baird Publishers contains much for any tai chi practitioner, and a lot for students of Chiron Tai Chi Chuan & Chi Kung.

The book begins with an updated review of the history and philosophy of the art, outlining many of the new developments in how the art is taught and practiced today, together with including inspiring texts on the principles and classics.

Pictorially, the 1st section of the CMC Hand Form is depicted together with advice on good/bad postures. There are a number of chi kung exercises featured together with warm-ups, loosening exercises. Zhuang Zhong, and some Yijinjing. The partner-work shows single and double push hands along with the some applications.

Although the book uses models great care has been taken to ensure that the individual postures are shown in a clear, easy to follow manner which should assist students with their own practice.

Aside from the above mentioned work an important part of the books deals with how tai chi and chi kung practice can be used as a tool for personal development and inner growth, applied to every aspect of daily life.
